Tower Unit Tier List For Kingdom Rush Origins
In Rush Royale Origins there are four main towers that you can strategically place on the battlefield. They come in the form of an Archers Tower, Barracks, a Mage Tower, and a Stone Druid Tower. These units can be upgraded into variations that will make them much more powerful and effective as you try to take down hoards of enemies. In our tier list, we will look at all tower variations when they are unlocked and upgraded.
We have found the list below to be a true reflection of how effective we found each tower in a variety of different levels and situations whilst completing the game.
Bladesinger Hall
At the top of our list is the Bladesinger Hall. This is one of the upgraded versions of the base Barracks tower unit. The Bladesinger Hall transforms standard troops into warrior monks that can perform powerful attacks and have the chance of becoming invincible.
In our opinion, this is the strongest and most effective tower unit in the game. After upgrading this unit your troops will become extremely powerful and be able to deal with powerful enemies as they try to pass.
The optimum placement of these units is when surrounded by archer towers as they will stall enemies as they try to pass. This will give your other units more time to attack enemies as they are held in place.
Arcane Archers
In a close second and the first of our projectile tower units is the Arcane Archer tower. This is an upgraded version of the Archers Tower unit. The Arcane Archer power-up transforms the archers situated in the tower to shoot magical arrows that weaken their target’s magic resistance rating.
Out of all the towers that shoot projectiles in the game, this was by far the strongest and most effective. In most levels, this should be your go-to tower to surround barracks and your hero placement.
The best place to place these units are at the start of the paths and also around barracks and your hero. Your aim is to keep enemies in range of them for as long as possible. Burst arrows should be your first upgrade on the card in battle as this will assist you in quickly taking down enemies and powerful bosses.
Wild Magus
The final tower that makes it onto the top tier of our list is the Wild Magus tower. This is an upgraded version of the Mage Tower base unit. The Wild Magus upgrade transforms the Mage Tower into a highly effective tower that shoots powerful magic projectiles at enemies as they pass.
This tower can quickly take down hoards of enemies and assist with taking down powerful bosses. Pair this with the Arcane Archer tower and you have found the perfect combo for most levels in the game.
Like the Arcane Archer tower unit, this should ideally be positioned near Barracks where enemies will be held in place for long periods of time. This tower unit is also highly effective against fast-moving enemies that can be difficult to kill.
Forest Keepers
Next, we have the Forest Keeper tower unit which is an upgraded version of the Barracks tower. This transforms the soldiers into powerful guardians of the forest who use the powers of nature to help them fight.
We would consider this a good, solid tower unit that will help you pass levels and challenges in the game. It offers a different kind of soldier unit when compared to the Bladesinger Hall upgrade path, the Forest Keeper units will hurl spears at enemies and provide some unique abilities that can help you in battle.
Use this unit like any of the Barrack-type units and surround it with towers that attack using projectiles. This way your guardians of the forest will halt enemies in place as they fight and absorb damage from your surrounding towers.
Golden Longbows
Next on our list is the Golden Longbows tower unit. This is an upgrade to the basic Archers tower which transforms it into Archers that are accurate, disciplined archers that deal death from far far away.
The Golden Longbow tower is ideal for maps that have long paths that monsters travel down. This is because the range and accuracy of the archers is greatly increased. There is also a skill that you can unlock which gives every arrow the chance to instantly kill enemies, this is more effective than you may think and results in a number of insta kills.
The best place to use this unit is when the tower has a large amount of range, this way you will maximize the amount of targets that your Archers can aim for. Opt
Weirdwood
The first of the tower units that we would consider to be the least effective is the Weirdwood tower. This is an upgraded version of the Stone Druid tower unit that hurls large boulders at enemies as they pass.
The Weirdwood tower can be effective on some levels when enemies move at a slower rate and have increased HP. In these scenarios having one of these units may even help, we found for in the majority of the levels in the game this was not the case and the tower unit was not very effective.
If you would like to trial the tower in-game we would recommend placing the tower unit in close proximity of other attacking tower units. This tower should not be used as a last resort in your defense as the majority of times it will fail.
Arch Druid Henge
Next on our list is the Arch-Druid Henge. This tower is an upgraded version of the Stone Druid tower unit which has total control over nature, commanding earth, beast, and spirit alike.
Much like the Weirdwood tower unit, the Arch-Druid Henge tower was mainly ineffective in most of the battles we used it in. The best skill this tower brings is the ability to summon bears which can hold up enemies on the track. Other than that we found no benefit to using this tower and would not recommend using it in the game.
High Elven Mage
The final tower on our list is the High Elven Mage. This tower is an upgraded version of the Mage Tower that transforms into a High Elven Mage that cast awesome high-energy triple bolts!
We found this tower to be the least effective out of every other tower in the game. Whilst the damage output and range of the tower is good the slow attack speed and skills it offered moved this tower down the list to last place. This could also be as you find yourself comparing this tower to the other Mage Tower upgrade – The Wild Magus which is a lot more effective in taking down enemies in-game.
And there you have it! We hope you have enjoyed reading our guide on the best tower units in Kingdom Rush Origins. It is worth stating that this was created off the back of vigorously testing each tower unit in a number of different situations and challenges in the game. Some towers are much more useful than others on specific levels as monsters’ stats and attributes change.
