Collecting gold coins in Survivor.io is one of the most important aspects of the game. Gold enables you to upgrade your survivor, equipment, tech parts, and the evolve system. All of these factors are critical if you intend to beat the harder levels as the game progresses.
Luckily for you, we have listed some of the best tried and tested methods for farming gold at a fast rate. In Survivor.io there are a number of different methods that you can combine to make gold fast.
what is gold in Survivor.io?
Gold is the currency required in-game to upgrade your ATK and HP. This is mainly done by merging your equipment, upgrading your survivor, and completing the evolution table. Gold can also be used to purchase equipment from the daily shop which refreshes every 24 hours.
Gold is shown in the top right-hand corner of the main game lobby. You can purchase gold in the shop for real currency or earn it using a variety of methods that we will explore in this article.
How to get gold in Survivor.io
In Survivor.io there are a number of different ways that you can earn gold. We have tried and tested a number of different methods and summarised the best ones in this article. You can use a combination of the different methods below to boost your gold balance and achieve your goal of becoming the ultimate survivor!
1. Just play the game
Yes, you did read that correctly. One of the best methods for collecting gold in the game is to simply play the game. Simply playing through the main chapters in the game can reward you with a good amount after completing each stage. You will get more gold in the chapters for defeating bosses, exploring the maps, and finding and breaking open crates.
Another good tip to maximize your gold in chapters is by using the supply skill called oil bond. This will increase the amount of gold you collect by a percentage each time it is leveled up.
Chapter chests are a one-time reward that can be collected after surviving 5 minutes, 10 minutes, and after completing a chapter. These can be claimed in the main lobby after playing a chapter. They can provide you with a good amount of gold and rewards.
2. Patrol earnings
Patrol earnings are a great feature that is available in Survivor.io. It gives you the ability to passively earn gold and other equipment whilst you are AFK. This is capped after a 24hr period.
The amount of gold that you earn each hour is determined by your level and how far you are in your journey.
To collect your patrol earnings click on the patrol button located in the main lobby. You will then be taken to the patrol earning section (shown above) where you can see how many gold coins and equipment you have accumulated. Press claim to receive your gold and rewards. There is a short cool-down period where you cannot claim for a period of time after pressing the claim button.
Quick earnings are another great feature where you can earn a good amount of coins. You can complete quick earnings either by watching a short advert or by spending x 15 energy points.

3. Combat supply chests
Combat supply chests can appear at the start of a level. They appear as a normal chest on the ground and must be collected.
Combat supply chests can contain a good amount of gold and should always be collected. When you press next the animation will start collecting either 3 lots of gold or in some cases 5 lots. There are 3 different amounts that you can get (depending on where the selector lands).
The bundle of gold coins will give you the least amount of gold, followed by the pouch of gold and then the safe. These amounts of gold vary depending on the event, your level, and the challenge you are taking part in.
4. By taking part in timed events and special ops
Timed events and special ops are another great way to collect extra gold. One of the great features of these events is they do not require the use of any energy. The timed events generally refresh on a daily basis with the special ops lasting for a longer time.
The gold mine is a short challenge that involves defeating a number of bosses that drop good amounts of gold. Even some of the normal monsters in the game will not drop XP, instead, they drop gold coins that can be collected.
Special ops are a group of challenges that get harder as you complete the first few. The rewards offered by these generally consist of gold and equipment.
5. Daily, weekly, and monthly packs
Another great method of collecting gold is from the daily, weekly, and monthly packs. There is a pack that can be earnt by watching a short video on each section. These packs refresh at different rates (daily, weekly, and monthly).
Whilst it can be tedious watching ads the amount of gold offered from them makes it worth the time.
Other packs can be purchased by spending real currency on them.
6. Season pass (survivor pass)
Like a lot of games today, Survivor.io comes complete with its own season pass which is called the survivor pass. There is a free tier and a paid tier offering various rewards that are granted when you reach certain tiers.
On the free pass alone a good amount of gold can be earned by simply playing the game and completing objectives. A red symbol will appear on the season pass in the main lobby to indicate when a reward can be collected.
The paid season pass offers better rewards at each tier. This is a combination of gold, gems, equipment, and outfits. We would recommend only purchasing the battle pass if you are going to play a lot that season and reach the top tiers.
7. By watching short ads in the shop
Another great method to collect free gold is in the shop. At the bottom of the shop, there is a free 2-hour patrol gold package that can be collected on a regular basis by watching a short ad.
Again, the amount of gold offered from watching the short ad makes it worthwhile. This will be available to do every few hours.
8. Varying amounts of gold in-game
Whilst playing most levels in Survivor.io you will see 3 different amounts of gold that fall on the floor either from crates or defeating some monsters. Each type will grant you a different amount of coins.
- Single gold coins are worth 10 gold
- A cluster of 3 gold coins is worth 30 gold
- A bag of gold is worth 100 points
Always collect gold when it is safe to do so, it is probably not the best idea to run through a mob of monsters to collect 10 coins if you run the risk of failing the level but always collect when safe to do so. If you max out the oil bond skill early on you can collect a good amount of gold whilst playing.
9. Promo codes
Sometimes the game developers will share promo codes via their social channels or their discord channel. These are one-time redeemable codes that can grant gold, gems, and equipment. Make sure to follow the official channels so you do not miss out on these codes.

10. Daily and weekly chests
Daily and weekly chests can be another great way to earn gold in the game of Survivor.io. They are unlocked by completing various tasks which will grant a star reward. The star reward can be collected to open the chests located at the top of the daily and weekly chest tabs.
Most of the tasks just require you to play the game normally such as logging in, playing the main chapter a number of times, playing daily stages, etc.
Always try and complete these tasks to gain some great amounts of gold.
